Project Overview

The Lakeridge Health Collaborate Project is a real-life group project associated by the connection of Durham College and Lakeridge Health. The project director, Natascha, give us a quest to help their branding, for their Clinical Trail, or Research Result.

To communicate to the general public the results of innovative and relevant medical research projects conducted at - or in conjunction with - Lakeridge Health. We strive to provide this information and its relevance to the public in a way which can be understood by all viewers, including patients, research participants, and family members.

Initiation

After we discuss with our instructor Linda, We picked our topic: Enzamet Results. The format of the project will be a motion graphic video, and a printed/digital bussniess card and brochure.

Overview

The overview of our project is to be able to accurately and effectively display and inform viewers of quantitative and qualitative information regarding the various clinical trials conducted at or in conjunction with, Lakeridge Health.

Concept with Dependencies

This project will be a linear motion graphic video, it delivers essential information and data of layperson medical research using animation transitions and screen swaps in an interesting way. Audiences or users can scan the QR code on the designated business card or poster to watch the video. The QR code can also be presented on any smart device. As to not touch Lakeridge Health’s servers or take up too much room on a users device, all videos will be uploaded to a video streaming site such as YouTube or Vimeo. If accessing the video on their personal devices, the user will access the video by scanning a QR code which can be found on posters around the hospital or business cards. If streaming on a television in a waiting area, the video will stream and loop continuously Our dependencies rely on the display location itself, what size the screen will be, the brightness level, if there will or will not be audio.

Design, Theme, and Style

We decided to use flat, graphic design as our style of video. The color scheme and fonts will follow to the Lakeridge Health Brand Itentity. We will design our own assets as well. Hence, according the ability of each group member, we chose our role for each part. And I will be charge of part of animation, as the major part of production.

Storyboarding

The excellent storyboard is the fundemental to create a excellent video or film. A intro with logo animation is necessary. To make the audience easier to understand, those stats and results shall be combined properly. To make the stats looked less dull, animated charts are essential for this issue. The rowing globe illustration, 3D bar chart, little person and creative designs took a long time to prepare.

Design and Developing

Based on our storyboard, the actual developing did not take too long. During this time, we improved our idea and add something new into it. The key for make a good video is: Fast in, fast out, gives the audience couple seconds to read and digest the content, and emphasize the key point.

First Time Feedback

We communicate to the project director Natascha, we got much useful advices and suggestions. Overall, the progress is good. We also share the production to each other to get some feedback and suggestion.

Renewal and Final Publishing

After the uodates and renewals, The project presentation will be streamed online. We also get some feedback from the peer critique. We add on the intro logo animation, fix the text of the card. This project is finished from this point. However we still look forward to cooperate with Natascha to see what else can be improve in real world applied. We also consider how to make it more friendly in this circumstance.

Project Brief

The Lakeridge Health project is our first time real-life applied project for a real organization. In the time of our brainstorming and storyboard, we chose our text, assets carefully, and keep in touch with each other also with Natascha to keep a good communication. It made a deeper undertand for what our client really want and what we can provide to our clients. The more important thing is to organize our team well so that it feels great to work with all of them.
